2012? The end of world?
People… the last months of 2012 might be our last months of our lives as Patrick Geryl, 53 now, currently living in Belgium, quited has job as a laboratory worker in a French oil company. He said he saved up enough to survive until December 2012 as the world will come to its end.
Geryl, studied chemistry in his younger years and started preparing for the apocalypse. He also founded a “survival group” of people with similar thoughts, aimed to survive the catastrophe. He has been gathering materials like water purifiers, wheelbarrows, dusk masks and vegetable seeds. His list of survival goods is a 11 pages long.
He said:
You have to understand, there will be nothing, nothing left. We will have to start an entire civilization from scratch.
As stupid it might sound right now but he supports his claims he points to the Mayan cyclical calendars, the longest of which last renewed itself around 5,125 years ago and he believes is set to end again with catastrophic consequences in 2012. He also supports his theory by relating to the earlier Egyptians who considered 2012 as a year of great change.
Through science, he supports that NASA predicts an increase in number of sun flares and sunspots in 2012, and said that it will sure to cause electrical failures and satellite disruption.
He painted the scene of 2012 by saying that first, the polar reversal by hitting a meteoroide, will cause the south pole to become north pole and the sun will rise from the west. He added that, powerful earthquakes, massive tidal waves and huge volcanic eruptions will follow. Also he said that nuclear reactors will melt, building will turn to dust and a cloud of volcanic dust will cover the sky for around 40 years from which no sunlight will reach the earth surface. By summing up, he said that only the prepared ones will survive.
Also… there is an amazing number of people who have been believing this theory of world ending in 2012, cause now, survival groups have come up in Europe, Canada and the United States. Google search has reported that the phrase “2012″ and “the end of the world” has received a massive 300,000 hits from all over the world and online video sharing website, You Tube, currently has more than 65,000 clips informing viewers about this 2012 apocalypse.
Geryl and has followers are planning to buy a land in African Mountains, where they will be safe from the volcanic dust blocking and the tidal waves. Geryl has written three books on the topic 2012 and is maintaining a website on the same topic to share the knowledge.
Whatever 2012 unfold for us, i am not yet convinced by the Geryl’s theory and go buy myself land in Africa, but it is making a huge story in the world right now.
