Lately my 30gb iPod was acting a bit weird, freezing from time to time until i fixed it. I know alot of people out there must be facing this problem so i thought of sharing my solutions with you guys…

If your iPod has freezed for the first time or happens quite a few times then the easiest way to fix it is to first put off the hold from your iPod and then hold the Menu and the action button together for around 10 seconds until the screen flickers to black for a while and then the apple logo appears.If you are using the older version of iPod, you can try holding the menu and play button to reset your iPod.

This reset technique usually helps most of the time whenever you find any trouble with your iPod.

If the reset technique still doesn’t help solving the issue then restoring your iPod to factory setting is the only solution. Remember, following this step will lose all the data on your iPod, so you may consider backing up your iPod before you proceed with the restore. If you have all the songs on your PC, then this shouldn’t cause much trouble as you can later copy the songs again when you are done restore your iPod.

Now to restore your iPod, connect it with your computer and open iTunes. Your iPod will show up in iTunes, click it and open the summary tab. Then, click the restore button. iTunes will ask some confirmation of restoring your iPod. Confirm them. Then… it will start to download a software in iTunes, and once it is downloaded, it will execute itself the restoration will begin automatically. After some time, iPod will restart and reappear in the iTunes and you are done.

Also, i would suggest a few things on using your iPod to prevent furthur freezing of your iPod. Taking your iPod to Jogging is not a good idea, iPod Hard drive is not designed for this sort of handling. And if you still want to take your iPod jogging, try getting a arm strap so stick the iPod to your upper arm, this surely helps.
