Share Internet Between Vista PCs

If you want to connect two computers together and want to share internet, with this tutorial, you can easily do it. You won’t need any networking softwares or long wasted hours of configuring your hardware. If you want to share internet, simple begin with setting up your internet connection to your service provider. Simply skip this step if you only want to network your computers to only transfer your data. Then use the Network Setup Wizard to configure the computer.

To begin with, connect the two computers. Click on Start, righclick on Network and choose properties from the menu. There you will see the Network and Sharing Center window, click manage network connection.

Once you see the network connection window, there you will see two active network connection, the first one will your internet connection and other from your computer to the other.

Right-click on the internet service provider connection and choose properties. Select the sharing tab, and select the first option that would be saying let other people use this connection to access the internet, through which you will provide the other computer to share internet. If you want the other computer to manage the connection, select the other option and then select settings. You will now see the Advance Settings box through which you can select the services you want the other computer to use on your internet.

Check the standard services to be allowed on the other computer or you may add custom services to the list. Youll need to provide IP address and port number for adding custom services. You can add custom Internal Port number to make the setting less vulnerable, then click OK, and the custom service will be added. This is for the advance users, I would suggest using the standard services until you want to limit the access to the other computer.

Then click OK twice to make the connection and you are done configuring your one computer.

Get to the other computer on which you want to share internet. Make sure that the two computers are still connected and powered on. Then go to Internet Options in Control Panel to find the Internet Properties dialog box. Select the Connections tab.

Select Never Dial a Connection option, then click LAN settings. Select automatically Detect Settings and the use automatic configuration script options. Also clear the use a proxy server. Then click OK to finalise the settings and you are done.

You are almost done now, you just need reboot both the computers and the connections will be functional.

You can also select the sharing properties by right clicking your local drives and seeing the sharing options to enable your drives shared on other computer.
