Record Internet Radio With AIMP2

I have always been a fan of Trance and I was looking for a software with which I could record the internet radio while I listen to it, so that I can listen to them again and then I found AIMP2 for all my needs.

AIMP2 is an audio player but it also records Internet Radio with awesome quality. If you don’t listen to any online radio, I will suggest you Shoutcast directory to find your favourite genre radio station. When you click Tune In, AIMP2 will open if it is configured to play your online radios. Now, the next step is to configure AIMP2 to record the internet radio to your computer so you can listen when ever you want to.

Open, AIMP2 and press “Ctrl + P” to open the player’s options. Select association under System and you will see number of compatible files types the player can play. If you want to use AIMP2 as your default player, you can enable all but if you don’t want to do that, select .pls format from the list, which most of the online radio stations use. Now, the next time you want to listen your favourite online radio, AIMP2 will play it. Now, select “Streaming” menu under “Player.

It will prompt you to choose the folder where the music you will be recording will be stored. You can choose your custom folder or keep the default folder. The second option is to select the format of the recording. I would recommend selecting mp3 format for recording and 192 or 256 kbit for quality recording. There are number of other formats supported too like .wav, .ogg or .flac to choose from.

Now, you are done with the settings part. The recording part is available in the main client, you can start recording by clicking the Radio Cap on the left side of the player, when the text blinks, it indicates that recording is in progress.
