Google Reader For Desktop
Google reader has been around for a very long time now, getting you all the updates from different blogs or sites you have subscribed. I have almost 100 subscribed blogs which i love to follow, Google Reader combines all the updates from the blogs to one place. All you need is a Google account, if you have a Gmail Account, that will work fine. You can subscribe to my blog’s feed as well, click the RSS feed url and select subscribe with Google Reader and you will be redirected. It comes really easy following the blogs.
Well, i found this really cool gadget by google, which get all the blogs updates straight to your desktop. It is almost a mini version of the original Google Reader, you can browse through different blogs you have subscribed, view content and click on them to view the full version.
You can add tags to your feed, search through the blogs you have subscribed and easily browse them.
Do get the Google Reader Gadget, first you will have to install a small 1.9mb Google desktop application from here, chek out the screenshot on the right side, and then download the google reader gadget, and you can simply add the plugin to the google desktop.
Alternatively, you can click the “+” on top of your google desktop application and search in google reader, and you easily find Google Reader applcation, just click the add button, and it will show up on the google desktop application.
Then you will be prompted to login.
Once you are through with it, your RSS feeds will appear, something like this:
