7 Useful Web Applications

I have been using these really handy tools for sometime now and thought of sharing them to you guys… All of these tools are really easy to use and comes really handy when you get to them. Lets start on the with the first tool.

1. TweetDeck

TweetDeck as you can guess by its name, is something related to twitter. Well, you’ve guessed it right, TweetDeck is a simple application that combines all your twitter accounts to one place. You don’t need to manage your mulitple twitter accounts on one page, without switching between them and you can view all your accounts information on one page.

- You can easily tweet from this simple application and can share photos or web links.
- Can easily reply to the direct messages or manage @replies.
- Easily create or follow your interest groups or friends.
- You can also use the application to update your status of facebook and view your friends updates.
- TweetDeck removes all the spams using their quality spam filters.

2. Google Reader Gadget

It is a must must get application for all the people who are following their favorite sites throught their RSS feeds and avoid opening the Google Reader to view their updates from their sites. Google Reader Gadget  get all the feed updates right on your desktop, and preview them. If you like the article, you can easily click and view the full version.

3. Download Helper

Download helper is a really simple firefox plugin which enables you to download and converting videos from many video streaming sites. The best thing about this plugin is, it supports maximum sites i use for streaming videos, as it promises of “minimum effort” for downloading videos, well it pretty much fulfills it, a few clicks, easily gets you downloading the video easily.

4. Drop.io

Drop.io is a very simple website which enables you to share your files privately. This website does not make your content public and you can easily share your content like photos or movies with your family members or friends.

dropioOnce you open the site,  click the “add files” button and browse the file you want to upload. You can select files uptop 100 mb.  Once you are done adding files, select “Create Drop”, and it will prompt you to create admin password or recovery email to set admin access and later with this site, you can password protect your files or set an expiry date for the content you upload.

Later, you can email the content where ever you want or keep it to yourself as a backup.

5. Dropbox

Dropbox is a very useful application, which you can use to backup everything important on your PC. All the data is encrypted when sent to the data centers for backup.Currently they are offering 2 GB space for uploading and generating backups. The interface is very easy to use and you can even share your uploads with other users on dropbox.

6. Gmail Drive

Gmail drive is something similar to that of dropbox, but with gmail drive application, it uses your Gmail account for storage which means you get approximately 6.5 Gb of storage which comes very handy if you want to backup movies or your songs collection.

All the uploaded files are stored as emails in your inbox, you can sort them later under labels.

7. FacePAD

This application has to be my favorite application. This really simple plugin on firefox, easily downloads whole of the photo albums from facebook. A simple right click on the photo album download them to your computer, so you can view them offline or save them for a memory.
