Microsoft To Offer Windows 7 On USB Drive?

7usbAs the Windows 7 release on 22 October, Microsoft is considering different ideas on providing the operating system to the customer and one the ideas floating the internet is, Microsoft may offer windows 7 on USB flash drives, tells a source on Cnet.

This move is not yet confirmed by any Microsoft official as the idea is still under consideration.

Microsoft is currently aiming this consideration for the users without CD/DVD drives on their computers, so the upgrade to Windows 7 can be made easier.

With the USB flash drives, users can easily run the setup and upgrade their operating system but all this upgrade might not come so easy. USB data transfers is abit slow compared to the optical drives and if a installation of around 6 GB is to be made for Windows 7, it would take alot of time compared to the installation from DVD/CD.

Microsoft plans to sell the Windows 7 on DVD,  as a downloadable version from their official site, and now may be on a USB drive.

The next complication which still needs to be addressed is the working of applications for the Windows XP users as its still not sure if it will support the applications from Windows XP if the users upgrade to Windows 7.
