Google To Use Cell Phones For Password Recovery
Google has been offering alot of free services over the internet, the search engine itself, Gmail (my favorite email client), Google Docs and many more… and now Google has decided to introduce the security feature which enables the google account users to recover their passwords through the Cell Phone numbers they have provided on their account settings page.
Currently Google accounts password can be recovered by using the secondary email address or security question but if you fail to remember both of them, then you’ve lost your Google account…
Google introduced this new feature only for United States currently with which the users can setup their cell phone number by going to the Account Management page and select the country and type in the cell phone number.

Although different countries might appear on the list but the feature is not currently functional there.
Once you add your cell phone number, and next time you recover your password, it will send you the password to your cell phone.
For non US visitors, you will have to wait for sometime while Google extends the feature to other countries, i dont think it will take a lot of time.
Also make you sure, you are not using any proxy when you visit the account management page cause you might not see the option if you are using a proxy and a US visitor.
