Google Docs has been around for some time now offering people to make spread sheets, write documents on the go. It provides online version of microsoft office. You dont need any installation, and simple Google Account enables you to use the feature easily.

Currently this google docs feature does not allow you to backup the presentations or any work you do but it is saved as an online version on your google account. Well, for all those people who love google docs and want to back up their google docs to their computer, i found a really simple application with a few clicks you can download them to your computer.

First, download the application, GDocBackup, and double click to install it.

When the download completes, you will be prompt for your login details on your first use and configure you output folder where you downloads will be saved. Choose the formats you want to download as, like doc, odt, rtf, txt, pdf for document files, xls, csv, ods, tsv, pdf for spreadsheets and ppt, pdf for presentation files. And Save the configuration.

Now, open the application and you can export all the documents from Google Docs to your computer.

This application works on Windows and on Linux.
