And you own a USB drive which you want to backup and avoid any problems caused if the next time your USB drive crashes then consider a really simple application called USB Image Tool.
As the name suggests, this application creates an image of your USB drive and saves it as a back up on your computer. This software comes really handy especially for the mp3 music players like iPod which at times crashes suddenly and you are left wondering where to get all your songs back. You can create a backup of your mp3 players and easily restore them if any thing goes wrong.

To back up your USB drive, open the application and insert the USB drive in the USB port and see if it appears in the application.
When it does, select the drive and click Backup button. Then you will be prompt to select the location where the image file will be saved. Select the location and the backup will begin.

How to restore an image file:
First select the USB drive from the list and click Restore. Browse the image file and click OK. USB drive will be restored to the backup you made.
