3 Gmail Labs Features To Try Out

Lately, Gmail introduced it Gmail labs for testing new features before they become a part of Gmail services. To use the following three features I am about to write, you need to enable the Gmail Labs feature from settings, then going to the Labs tab and then select “enable” next to each one you want to turn on. When you are done choose the features, click the “save changes” button.

Superstars: Adds new designs when you click to star your important mails. When you enable this feature, now you can get fun new images each time to click the star which appears beside the mail. With each click you make, image rotates to display a new one. You can even use this feature by hitting the “s” key on your keyboard if you have the shortcuts enabled. To find new images apart from the defaults ones, to find those, you may click on Settings and look for the Superstars in the General tab. From there, you can drag icons you like from “not in use” to “in use” to add them your stars. You may use the these superstars for telling you different important stuff like maybe you bank statement be shown by a “!” star beside it or a new red star from you’re close friend or… you know… =D

Add HTML Email Signature to Gmail

Gmail has been my favorite email service provider, although there are many email service provider but I love Gmail’s simplicity and fast response to user’s command. Although Gmail does not allow attaching HTML signature but today I would share an interesting tweak with you guys on how you can add a HTML Email signature to Gmail with the help of Grease Monkey and firefox.

Greasemonkey is a plugin for Firefox which helps you to change how your favourite pages look and behave. By installing Greasemonkey to firefox and adding the appropriate script, you can rule any web page you want =d.
After installing the Greasemonkey script, download the Gmail Signature Float script. By this script you can modify Gmail in three different ways:
1. It moves your signature from the bottom of the message to the top of the quoted message.
2. It will also remove the two stripes which Gmail forces above the signature.
3. And the most important of all it allow you to add HTML to your signature. You can also turn it on and off “floating” of signature.
And your done! Hope this third post satisfies you and with this, it ends my promise of making three posts, Happy Surfing =)

Search Smart With Google!

Google has become a part of our daily internet lives. For all the internet searches we use Google search engine and why shouldn’t we, it gives us accurate, simple search results and without spams.

Today i would share some interesting searching tips with you guys. So here goes:

Google gives you power to search any specific thing from a site u want, lets suppose that u want to download winamp, a famous audio player, from download.com. You would go to google.com and write in the search:
site:www.download.com winamp
And now you will get all the links of winamp from download.com.

Google search doesnot only indexes pages but it also provide an easy acess to document, multimedia or any format you want to search. Lets suppose that you want a pdf file named document, you would write:
filetype:PDF document
This will restrict your search queries to search only those files on the internet with .pdf extensions.

I found this really interesting. Google actually helps you convert any units like currency, mass, length, volume and others. Now you dont need to download any specific software for conversion or visit any site. Now you want to convert centimeter into meters you can open Google and write:
1 cm in m
